Are you applying for an AE Scholarship or Fly Now Award?
Then you should go through the Power Point presentation which was part of a scholarship seminar at the 2018 Ninety-Nines Conference in Philadelphia.
There are many reasons why you may have been, or had not have been selected as a winner for a scholarship. The big questions is usually, ‘Why didn’t my awesome application win!”
Go through this presentation, leave yourself a LOT OF TIME before the due date to start the process of putting together your application. There are two rounds of Fly Now applications, spring and fall. If you are short of time, it is likely better to wait and apply with an outstanding application on the next due date.
Use the expertise of the Chapter AE Chair and Section AE Chair… ask for their advise and remember, leave yourself a lot of time before the due date. Not just one month, but start putting together your application several months in advance. You can expect to make several rewrites on your application and essay, which means, again…leave yourself a lot of time to get an excellent application put together.
